Buyer's guide · 2026

Sales demo software, by the motion it serves.

Sales demo software splits by who drives: presenter-led tools for live calls (Walnut, Demostack, Reprise), video demo automation for committees (Consensus), and self-serve demos for outbound and leave-behinds (Tellane, Storylane, Navattic, Arcade). Dated prices, honest fits.

How this guide is made

Published plans, documented features, linked sources — not a hands-on test

Every price is read from the vendor's public pricing page on August 24, 2026 and recalculated per year on annual billing. Capture methods and plan features come from the same pages; complaints are quoted from named reviews and interviews with a link. We have not run the same demo through every tool and do not claim to. We make Tellane, it is listed under the same rules as the others, and its “not for” list is as long as anyone's.

Sales teams use demos at three moments — before the call to qualify, on the call to persuade, and after it to arm the champion — and different tools serve each. Presenter tools let a seller run a cloned product live with editable data. Video demo automation assembles a library of recorded demos per viewer and reports who in the buying group watched. Self-serve demo tools publish a clickable walkthrough on a personalized link the prospect drives alone. This guide sorts by that, then compares on dated price.

The questions that decide it

Who drives the demo?

A seller on a call → Walnut, Demostack, Reprise, Storylane Premium. The prospect alone → Tellane, Storylane, Navattic, Arcade. A committee watching → Consensus.

Does the buyer need to type?

Yes → a clone (Demostack, Reprise) or editable HTML (Walnut). No → any self-serve tool.

What do you need back?

Which stakeholder watched → Consensus. Which account drove and where it parked → Tellane prospect links, Navattic account identification. Deal-level engagement → Walnut.

Annual contract or monthly?

Walnut, Consensus, Navattic, Demostack, Reprise are annual. Tellane, Storylane, Arcade bill monthly.

How to evaluate in an afternoon

Sales demo tools divide by motion, and the motion is testable in an afternoon with your own pipeline:

  1. Pull the last ten closed-won deals and note where a demo actually happened: before the call, on it, or after. That is the motion to buy for first.
  2. Self-serve motion: capture one eight-stop demo in two free plans, mint a personalized link in each, and send both to a colleague posing as a prospect — compare what you can see about their session.
  3. Presenter motion: the vendors are annual and sales-led, so before the first call, script the exact live demo your team runs and ask each vendor to show that, not their standard flow.
  4. Whichever tool wins, check the follow-up story: what does the seller see the morning after sending a link?
  5. Price it at your real team size — presenter tools bundle seats in fixed blocks, and an unused block is the most common overspend in this category.

FAQ

Questions

What is sales demo software?

Tools that deliver or support product demos in a sales cycle: presenter platforms for live calls, video demo automation, and self-serve interactive demos for outbound and follow-up.

What is a sales demo?

A product demonstration inside a sales cycle — live on a call, sent as a video, or a self-serve interactive demo the prospect drives before or after the conversation. The demo-script template on this site covers the structure that works for all three.

Is sales demo software the same as sales presentation software?

No. Presentation software shows slides about the product; sales demo software shows the product itself — captured, cloned, or presented live. Buyers who search for one often need the other, which is why this guide sorts by motion first.

Which sales demo tool has a free plan?

Tellane, Storylane, Navattic, and Arcade. Walnut, Consensus, Demostack, and Reprise do not.

Is this guide based on hands-on testing?

No — published pricing (dated), documented features, linked sources. We make Tellane.
