Use case

Show the first workflow before the empty dashboard does.

A lane of the first thing a new customer should do, sent in the welcome email and embedded in the docs, with completion analytics so success teams know who is stuck.

New accounts land on an empty product and leave. A walkthrough of the first workflow — with real-looking data, driven in two minutes — shows what 'done' looks like before they start. Embedded in the welcome email and the getting-started doc, it is the onboarding call for everyone who will not book one.

How it works

Step by step

  1. Capture the first workflow from a populated accountNot the sign-up screens — the first valuable task, completed. Six to ten stops.
  2. Send it in the welcome email and embed it in docsLink from the email (email clients do not render iframes); embed in the docs and the in-app checklist.
  3. Branch by role if onboarding differsAdmin setup versus member first-use is one lane with a branch at the first stop.
  4. Watch completion by weekA drop at a specific stop is a confusing screen in the product as much as in the demo.

FAQ

Questions

Is this an in-app product tour?

No — Tellane lanes are standalone, opened from a link or an embed, not overlays inside your signed-in product. Use them in the email, the docs, and the help centre; use an in-app tour tool for overlays.

Can customer success see who completed it?

If the lane has a lead-form stop, yes, per person; otherwise the funnel shows the aggregate by source.
