Glossary
Interactive demo.
An interactive demo is a guided, clickable walkthrough of a software product that a prospect drives at their own pace, without logging in or booking a call.
Also: interactive product demo · clickable demo · self-serve demo
Where a demo video is watched, an interactive demo is used: the viewer clicks the same buttons they would in the product and moves through a path the author laid out — a screen, a highlighted control, a sentence of context, the next screen. Most are built by capturing the real product (as screenshots or as HTML) and annotating the captures; a few are sandboxes that run a copy of the product.
Interactive demos live on websites and pricing pages, in outbound emails as personalized links, in review-site listings, in onboarding flows, and at events. They replace or precede the scheduled sales demo rather than the live call itself.
Because every click is an event, interactive demos are measurable in a way videos are not: which step each viewer reached, how long they spent, whether they clicked the call to action, and where they stopped.
In Tellane: A Tellane lane is an interactive demo: stops with hotspots and tooltips, optional branching, an optional lead form, and analytics down to the stop where each viewer parked. See how →
