Glossary
Self-guided demo.
A self-guided demo is a product demo the prospect starts and completes alone, on their own schedule, with no salesperson and no account.
Also: self-serve demo · self-service demo
'Self-guided' describes the delivery, not the format — it can be an interactive demo, a video, or a sandbox — but in practice the term is used for interactive demos linked from a website in place of a 'book a demo' button.
The buyer-side case is obvious: see the product before spending an hour with a stranger. The seller-side case is qualification: a prospect who completed a self-guided demo and clicked the call to action is a different conversation from one who filled in a form.
