Demo environment.
A demo environment is a dedicated instance of a product, separate from production, kept populated with realistic data for showing the product to prospects.
Sales engineers maintain demo environments so that a live demo never shows an empty dashboard or a real customer's data. They are expensive in practice: data drifts, releases break flows, and several people share one instance.
Captured interactive demos are one answer to the maintenance problem — capture the environment once at its best and the demo stays that way — while sandbox platforms are the other, cloning the environment with editable data.
