Lead capture and scoring

Guide 05 of 10 · 6 min read

A lead is a viewer who gave you their email mid-lane. Unlike a form on a website, a Tellane lead arrives with the whole drive attached.

What is collected

  • Email, and optional name and company from the form.
  • The drive: stops reached out of the lane's total, whether they finished, whether they clicked the CTA, time in the lane.
  • Device class, source, referrer, and approximate location (city, country).
  • The prospect link they came from, if any.

Later events in the same drive keep updating the lead — someone who submits the form at stop 4 and then drives to the end is recorded as finishing.

Score and intent

Capped at 100. High intent is 75 and up, medium is 50 – 74, low is the rest. Sort the leads page by score to work the top first.

Company enrichment

Company comes from the form, else from the prospect link, never guessed from a personal mailbox. Domain is the email's unless it is a free-mail provider, in which case the prospect link's domain is used.

Duplicates

The same email on the same lane within 24 hours updates the existing lead — answers and engagement merged — instead of creating a second one.

Working leads

Open a lead for its drive timeline with the named stops and where they parked. Change status — new, qualified, synced — add notes, delete. Select several for a bulk status change or delete. Export CSV writes every lead matching the current filters.

Where leads go

Admins and editors get a new-lead email with a deep link into the lead (Settings → Notifications). Connected integrations fire at the same moment: Slack post, HubSpot contact upsert, Zapier, and the lead.captured webhook. See integrations.
